Are you there for turning tonight? Are you there if the moods just right? Are you too low to navigate control? Are your senses feeling overload? Are you feeling like you just don't know? Are you deciding between their fate and yours? Are you burning bridges (or) building walls? Are you over it all for now? Are you let loose as much as the bind will allow? Are you feeling the freedom now? Are you feeling like they've stolen your dreams? Are you feeling like you're tearing at the seams? Are you falling off the balance beam? Is this an illusion or is this a dream? And will you wake before the next scene? Are you there for turning tonight? Are you there if the moods just right? Are you too low to navigate control? Are your senses feeling overload? Are you feeling like you just don't know?

For Every 03:46
I look your way try to catch your eye but you’re so preoccupied, Sometimes I feel like I am a stranger in my own mind. And every drink that I crave has a set memory to erase, Oh every drag that I take shuts down a part of me I just don’t want awake. The night is so quick to turn everything into folklore, Recollections come and go like they never have before. And every drink that I crave has a set memory to erase, Oh every drag that I take shuts down a part of me I just don’t want awake. Conversation fills the void where there was no void to fill, When I think of that time and place, I lose my breath, my heart beats still. And every drink that I crave has a set memory to erase, Oh every drag that I take shuts down a part of me I just don’t want awake. And every drink that I crave, theres a set memory to erase, Oh every drag that I take, theres a part of me I just don’t want awake.

I've got nothing left, in the tank, I've got nothing left, in the bank, Those dreams we had were so absurd, Still I think you meant every single word, I don’t know how, I don’t know why, We end up here, it’s enough to cry. All my hopes, quickly dashed, All my fears, remain unabashed, All my desires, under lock & key, All my thoughts, scattered aimlessly, I don’t know how, I don’t know why, We end up here, it’s enough to cry. It seems like we’re heading for collision, I’d apply the brakes but I’m not in control, I don’t think you’ll find this a starting admission, Each and every day sure takes its toll. Bite the hand, that feeds you, Give yourself a good talking to, How we reminisce, it feels good at first, Until we’re through with every verse, I don’t know how, I don’t know why, We end up here, it’s enough to cry. It seems like we’re heading for collision, I’d apply the brakes but I’m not in control, I don’t think you’ll find this a starting admission, Each and every day sure takes its toll.

Let Loose 03:35
I'm feeling kinda down, I don't want no-one around, But when I said I was lost, I think we had our wires crossed. No, I don't think you'll make it to the end, And by that I don't mean to offend, I just think you have nothing to lose, Oh, that's a dangerous feeling to let loose. I'm feeling kinda wrong, Haven't felt right in too long, Everything I say is absurd, Everything I say you've already heard. No, I don't think you'll make it to the end, And by that I don't mean to offend, I just think you have nothing to lose, Oh, that's a dangerous feeling to let loose. I'm feeling kinda tired, But my brain is so wired, I don't think I can move, I don't think you can soothe. No, I don't think you'll make it to the end, And by that I don't mean to offend, I just think you have nothing to lose, Oh, that's a dangerous feeling to let loose. (repeat)

Meet me in the place that we used to know, Meet me where the branches cower in the snow, I hope to god that you recall my face, I hope to god your memory left a little trace. Meet me where the sun always hits the door, Meet me where the paint chipped off the wall, I hope to god that it maintains it’s charm, I hope to god that it still brings me calm. Old feelings come and go, The past is present, it calls me, It won’t leave me alone. Old feelings come and go, The past is present, oh how it calls me, How it makes itself known. Meet me where your blue eyes flicker soft, Meet me where your expression gets lost and lost, I hope to god that you’ll wait for me, I hope to god that you’ll wait patiently. Meet me where the hour is never dark, Meet me where it’s safe to no longer talk, I hope to god that we can stall time, I hope to god, it would be the perfect crime. Old feelings come and go, The past is present, it calls me, It won’t leave me alone. Old feelings come and go, The past is present, oh how it calls me, How it makes itself known. credits

Pick me up, Don't leave me on the ground. I've been out of sorts, But always play the clown. It's hard for me to let go, It's hard for me to hang on, It's hard for me too know, Which one I should act upon. I've got a feeling, I've got a feeling, Is it just déjà vu? Or could it be something new? I've got a feeling, I've got a feeling, Is it déjà vu? Or could it be something new? Pick me up, I need a helping hand. I forgot what it's like, To be on the mend. It's hard for me to reach out, It's hard for me to hold back, It's hard for me to see the sun, When my blue skies are turning black. I've got a feeling, I've got a feeling, Is it just déjà vu? Or could it be something new? I've got a feeling, I've got a feeling, Is it déjà vu? Or could it be something new?

If you come alone, you may not leave.. here with your heart intact. We both know, the dangers of, finding love on first contact. Leave your mind behind it's always set to slow you down, And theres no miracle for bringing you around. No one knows, what the future holds, they'll have their thoughts anyway. But I prefer, to let life occur, and do it without my say. Leave your mind behind it's always set to slow you down, And theres no miracle for bringing you around. (repeat) You blend in, like a chameleon, as the colours drain from the sun. But you're not, invisible to me, and I can't hide from anyone. Leave your mind behind it's always set to slow you down, And theres no miracle for bringing you around. (repeat)

about

Volume#2 of old songs that I have tripped down memory lane to re-record on my Tascam 4 track analog tape recorder. This is stripped down to basic 4 tracks for each (2 guitar, 2 vocals) using a Shure 57 mic. Very organic, very lo-fi and very hissy but these are all qualities I like!

Tracks as recent as my May 2021 single release (It's Enough To Cry / Meet Me Where) but dating all the way back to 'Songs You Probably Won't Like' from 2011.

Steven P Robinson Chicago, Illinois

Originally from England, now residing in Chicago, I'm a singer-songwriter operating under the not too imaginative nom de plume Steven P. Robinson. Once described in some strange backhanded compliment as 'The King of Oxfam Folk' by now defunct music website Angry Ape for my beg, borrow, steal attitude to songwriting, I create mainly lo-fi tunes that I release as EP's. ... more
