lyrics

I've got nothing left, in the tank,
I've got nothing left, in the bank,
Those dreams we had were so absurd,
Still I think you meant every single word,
I don’t know how, I don’t know why,
We end up here, it’s enough to cry.

All my hopes, quickly dashed,
All my fears, remain unabashed,
All my desires, under lock & key,
All my thoughts, scattered aimlessly,
I don’t know how, I don’t know why,
We end up here, it’s enough to cry.

It seems like we’re heading for collision,
I’d apply the brakes but I’m not in control,
I don’t think you’ll find this a starting admission,
Each and every day sure takes its toll.

Bite the hand, that feeds you,
Give yourself a good talking to,
How we reminisce, it feels good at first,
Until we’re through with every verse,
I don’t know how, I don’t know why,
We end up here, it’s enough to cry.

It seems like we’re heading for collision,
I’d apply the brakes but I’m not in control,
I don’t think you’ll find this a starting admission,
Each and every day sure takes its toll.

Once described in some strange backhanded compliment as 'The King of Oxfam Folk' by now defunct music website Angry Ape for my beg, borrow, steal attitude to songwriting, I create mainly lo-fi tunes that I release as EP's. ... more
